Press Release Body: The Grassroots Outdoor Alliance in conjunction with the Wild & Scenic Environmental Film Festival highlights upcoming showings of the Wild & Scenic On Tour. The tour is on going throughout the year, with over 20 showings remaining from now through April 2008. The 2008/2009-tour schedule will be posted by April 2008 and will be reaching over fifty cities across the country with plans for 100 cities by 2009.
The 6th annual festival will be held January 11-13th, 2008 in Nevada City, CA. The presenting sponsor of the festival is Patagonia and local retail and environmental organizations host the tour nationally. Grassroots is happy to highlight our members across the country that are working with local environmental groups to sponsor the tour.
Environmental groups host tour venues as a way to outreach into their community and bring together a diverse audience. The event offers environmental groups an opportunity to raise awareness for their campaigns and increase their network of support by finding new members. New members equal more activists nationwide. It is creating a network for grassroots organizations connected by a common goal which is to use film to inspire activism! Please support your local environmental organization and independent retail store by going to the festival in your area. If you are interested in hosting the tour locally, please contact Susie Sutphin at susie@syrcl.org.
